Why is an umbrella policy so important?
If your auto or homeowner's liability coverage isn't enough to pay for the damages of an accident in your vehicle or on your property — and you are held liable — you could potentially owe hundreds of thousands of dollars.

EXAMPLE: If you're at fault in a car accident that injures another driver, your regular automobile insurance will typically cover the other driver up to the limit you selected, say $300,000.
